The roots of Studer Mikrosa GmbH go back to 1878 and since 1949
centreless external cylindrical grinding machines are produced in
Leipzig. They manufacture sophisticated precision machines,
including the automation components, in all common sizes and
adjust these to meet individual customer requirements.
Studer
Mikrosa are among the market and technology leaders in the
international field of centreless grinding having supplied
machines to nearly all well-known manufacturers from the
automotive industry and their suppliers, from the mechanical
engineering industry as well as the bearing industry.

Founding of the original companies "Kirchner & Co." (woodworking
machines), "Arno Krebs" and
"Müller & Montag" (milling machines and lathes), "Gehring" (honing
machines)

Manufacture of the first centreless external cylindrical grinding
machine |
1989
Over 10.000 machines supplied since 1949. Mikrosa becomes the
world‘s largest manufacturer of centreless external cylindrical
grinding machines
1993
Mikrosa is acquired by Körber AG, Hamburg. The international
Schleifring Group is founded |
1994
Mikrosa takes over the centreless grinding machine product lines
of the companies Herminghausen and Koenig & Bauer (Multimat)
1995
Decision to develop the KRONOS product line |
2000
Merger with Schaudt Maschinenbau GmbH and Berliner
Werkzeugmaschinenfabrik (BWF) GmbH
2005
Mikrosa incorporates under Studer Mikrosa GmbH as an independent
company in the Schleifring Group. Extensive investment to
completely redevelop the Leipzig factory |
2007
Studer Mikrosa GmbH opens its new factory in Leipzig after
reconstruction and redevelopment |
