The Mikrosa Kronos S 125 CNC centreless grinding machine is the ideal choice for economical precision processing of highly accurate small pieces. The thermally stable and vibration damping moulded mineral cast machine bed forms the basis of the machine. 

The axis resolution for such grinding processes is a phenomenal 0.01 µm. This is another important prerequisite to be able to reliably finish workpieces with a tolerance field of ± 0.5 µm under production conditions.

The cross-slide systems for the grinding and regulating wheel side provide not only enormous flexibility for grinding, but they also enable the KRONOS S 125 to have the full functionality of a 7-axis CNC machine. Even in the basic version, the KRONOS S 125 is equipped with a hybrid bearing grinding spindle for circumferential speeds up to 120 m/s.

In combination with CBN high-speed technology, the cycle time can be reduced and thereby profitability greatly increased. The KRONOS S 125 was optimised for rigidity and reduced vibration during its development, as is normal for Studer Mikrosa, and after successful construction it underwent a modal analysis. Thus today workpieces with the highest quality standards, such as nozzle pins or pump pistons, can be finished with a high degree of productivity.
