The machine bed made of GRANITAN® forms the base for assembly
of the technically high-standing components to a cylindrical
grinding machine, guaranteeing the greatest in precision,
performance and reliability for years to come.

The unique arrangement of the slide enables extreme grinding
lengths. Cutting-speed when using the internal grinding unit
can be optimized at any time thanks to the infinitely variable
drive. Sequential grinding in a single clamping for external
diameters, shoulders and bores can therefore be implemented in
an efficient manner. Thread grinding and a swivelling machine
table complete its universal versatility.

The software controlled set-up (Studer Quick-Set) assists in
registering reference points fast.
The full enclosure ensures an optimal view of the grinding
process. The loader interface enables the customer to
integrate a Studer smartLoad for automatic work piece
handling.
The housing of the Studer smartLoad has been adapted to the
design of the S33 and can be almost seamlessly integrated. New
integrations into the machine design are also the Sensitron 6
and in-process gauging. The operating panel has been given a
facelift and now enjoys a more ergonomic design. Optionally a
new, automated door drive is also available.

A large selection of additional options and accessories
(in-process gauging is new with digital measuring heads,
diverse new hand wheel functions, such as "fast move",
balancing system, contact detection, etc.) enable
application-specific extensions to be implemented and to some

The new
Studer loader smartLoad
For the automatic work piece feed there is a new loader
solution for the S33 based on a gantry loading system with a
simple gripper. The loading system is suitable for shafts
and/or chuck components up to a part length of 300 mm and
diameter of up to 100 mm; it therefore covers the majority of
the spectrum of parts produced on this machine. Parts supply
is accomplished by an external periphery; parts can be
supplied via a standardized, adjustable chain conveyor or via
a simple, adjustable belt conveyor. The housing for the base
module, which has been adapted to suit the machine design,
allows for safe and clean operation of the system. Depending
on the size of the part and the fittings, part changeover
times of 15s can be realized.
